I had a pretty nice day today. Talked to my daughter and her girls, my son and his significant other took me to lunch....yum...chicken chimi...and hubby bought me flowers.
I also had a bit of time in my studio. I have been looking at these partially finished bobbleheads for a while now and decided to finish one of them up. I have four more to dress, so I will put ear muffs on some, maybe a hat on one or two. I like this little guy. I will be offering a pattern soon for these as well as a pattern for a smaller version to use as an ornament. Stay tuned!

Happy Mom's Day!
Today is a day to celebrate all moms. Its been over two years now since I lost my mom and my daughter and though at times, I feel sad and full of self pity, I feel such gratitude for having these two strong, beautiful women in my life. They both have shaped my life in so many ways. I learned what it is like to laugh and love and to be grateful for so many things that I have taken for granted in the past.
Yesterday I did a craft show in Cherry Hills Village. It was a complete disaster. I was sitting at my booth, feeling angry at how poorly the show had been managed. I listened to other crafters complain about the poor traffic and their waste of time. I simply got up, started tearing down my booth, and began to remove my merchandise. Life is too short for complaining. Take action! This precious thing we call life is so delicate, so indefinite, so precarious. Live it like it is your last day. Tell those you love that you love them. Make every day a day to remember and be remembered.
Happy Mother's Day!

April Showers bring May......Snow?
It was snowing last night when I got home from my show at my niece, Heather's, house. She was so generous in having an At Home America show for me, and it was great! I reached my goal for having $1000 in sales for the first 35 days so my home studio is free! You can earn a free studio as well, just by inviting your friends to shop with At Home America! You can earn money, own great homewares, and meet new friends. Contact me for more info!
On Saturday I will be doing the Dolphin's Magic Art and Craft show in Cherry Hills. This is my first year to do this but I'm told there are approximately 100 vendors displaying gifts and decor for Mother's Day, graduation, Father's Day, weddings, birthday, etc, etc. It is at Plymouth Hall at Hampden and Colorado. Stop by and see me and shop!
Today is Melanoma Monday, declared as such by the American Academy of Dermatology. So it is a great opportunity for me to get on my soap box about sun screen. One in five people will have skin cancer in their lifetime. It is estimated that one person dies every hour from melanoma. So much of this is preventable! Please, please, please, wear your sunscreen! I never want to see another person suffer the way my daughter, Brandi, did. And I never want another mother to suffer such a loss!
Thanks, my bloggie friends for stopping by. Have a great week ahead!
