It has been a dreary week so far up here in the Colorado Rockies. Rain, rain, and more rain. But since I can't get anything done outside, I have been hard at work inside.
I purchased a huge box of ornaments a while back at a garage sale. Along with the regular round glass ball, I also got these:
Then I painted some wooden balls with flesh paint. I always put them on paint brushes so I can paint them all around without getting paint all over myself.
Add some ribbon wings, a halo and a ribbon hanger and you have a cute litte ornie~!
I found this 18 inch pepper mill at a garage sale for fifty cents:
It is now a stately crackled snowman:
I've also been working on some flower angels but ran out of ribbon for wings.
These little cuties are made from dollar store flowers. Add wooden ball heads, hangers, ribbons, etc. A little tip: I use small hooks (eyelets) for hanging that you can just screw into the top of the wooden head. Screw them in before gluing to the body or adding the hair. It simply makes it easier.
So, if you have been reading my posts, you know that I love going to garage sales and repurposing items. So.....this year, in honor of my sister's big birthday.....you know, one with a zero as the second digit......she and I are taking a road trip to the annual 127 Yard Sale. It is 690 miles long, stretching from Alabama to Ohio. We have no idea what to expect or how far we will get, but we are very excited! Leave me a comment or email me if you have been and have any advice on where to go, what to take, or anything else that is useful.
