Howdy, my friends. Busy as usual here. It has really been crazy. Can you believe it? Last week, late May, 2017, we got about a foot and a half of the white stuff. Roads were closed, traffic jammed, and our hummingbird feeders frozen. Aaahhh, springtime in the Rockies. I was smart enough to cover the plants in the garden and bring in the ones in pots, but it was still a shocker to have to get the snow shovel back out....
I have shared over the years all about my thrifting....the Longest Yard Sale.....the Nebraska Junk Jaunt....and Mile Hi Thrift Store. But what I haven't shared is that I have just bought too much stuff! Sure, I repurpose some things. I sold some things at a vintage market that I did last fall. But my poor little house is bursting at the seams! So, since my
Etsy shop is doing well with my hand made items and especially my crafting supply items, I decided to open a second shop for some vintage items. Please come and visit my second shop:
The Raggedy Peddler. And let me know if there was one of those great buys you saw posted here but don't see listed. I have only had time to list 15 items so far but I have many more to come.
And talking about Etsy......I have listed a lot of rusty tin items, buttons, and more. If I have inspired you to make any of my posted creations, you just might find some of the supplies there.
In addition to all of this excitement, I have finished up a couple of Christmas items....
I found the metal cone at my favorite thrift store. I added the foliage and a few white pip berries. The snowflake picks were some of the unpainted ones that I bought at Michaels after Christmas for like 80% off. I painted and added a coarse glitter. Silver bow from more of my after-holiday bargain shopping. This bow took an entire roll of ribbon, but it is so worth it.
The sleigh is of course from the thrift store, as well as the brightly colored ornie picks. I bought the elf feet at one of the craft stores after the holidays. I don't know if you can tell or not, but I added lights to this as well. Someone is going to fall in love with the whimsy of this piece.
Off to do some much needed housework. And laundry. And dishes. Or maybe I'll just watch Dr. Phil. haha
