Birdhouse Redo

My neighbor gave me this old birdhouse.  It was in fair shape, but you know me, I cannot leave well enough alone. 

 The birdhouse really wasn't bad, just needed to be cleaned up a bit and I really wanted a Spring theme instead of Fall.  So I ripped off the foliage, cleaned and sanded it.....there was so much glue!  I repainted, added a new bird and moss, some pips, and drum roll please......

Hubs bought me a new laptop for my bday....tomorrow.  I like it but the retraining is hard.  I had my last one for over eight years and I knew my way around it.  Well, hopefully, this old dog can learn a few new tricks.

Well, on to my next project.  Gotta get that pattern finished but we have had so much going on.  Gonna try again tonight.

New items!

Well, I still have not finished my next pattern, because I have been working hard on making things for a spring show next month and getting ready for a vintage show in April.  I got hubs to help me out on an item that I have had in my mind for a long time.  Last summer when my sister-in-law was here, we were discussing antiques that we wish we still had.  I said that I regretted not having any of those glass insulators that I used to see everywhere.  So, lucky for me, she sent me, not one, not two, but four boxes of insulators. 

This is our first attempt, but I have so many more ideas scurrying around my little brain.......

And a bird house.  I found this birdhouse at the thrift store.....dirty, in pretty bad shape.  But solid.  So I tore off all the grapevine, cleaned and sanded it.  And added my own embellishments.....Voila!  

And February is birthday month for me and my good friend Dawn showered me with gifts.  I love this arrangement that now proudly rests on my Hoosier cabinet.

Spring Floral

Been working on a few spring items for my Spring show next month.  I am in love with this bird nest!

In fact, I made two more!  It was so easy!  I purchased the nest at Hobby Lobby.  I put a bit of moss on top of a rusty bed spring (You can purchase these here)  I ran a rusty wire through the nest and wrapped around the spring to hold it in place.  I actually anchored it this way in a couple of places.  I wove some spring floral into the nest and hot glued a bit more moss to the top.  Throw in some eggs, add a ribbon and an stamped tag!  Voila!  A great centerpiece.  I have not listed these on Etsy, but if you are interested, leave me a comment below or email me for more info.

I really love this happy little spring basket too!  This would look great in any room to bring in that happy sunshine-y mood. 

Having spring like weather here today so maybe I will be motivated to get some more Spring items completed.  I've been neglecting my house, so I had better spend time working on it as well.  Have a great weekend!
