What 'cha Workin' on Wednesday???

A busy week, but even though you can take the crafter outta the studio, you .....oh, you know what I mean.....I have a couple of minutes before running my next errand so I thought I would share the cutest, easiest fall craft ever.....

I told you that my friend had given me some craft items, right?  Well one of the items was a gallon bag full of cinnamon sticks.  What to do, what to do????  So I teamed up with my pal, Pinterest and saw the cutest little thing ever.  I'm gonna tell you how to make these sweet little pumpkins, but then if I figured it out, I bet you would too.

All you need for this project is:
cinnamon sticks.
      copper scouring pads
curly wire for trim
leaves
raffia
hot glue and glue gun

I bought the scourers at Dollar Tree, three in a package.  The cinnamon sticks I cut down to 2".  The curly wire is from my Etsy shop (you can purchase here) or simply make your own by curling a piece of wire around a pencil or paintbrush.  I used one of my wires per pumpkin, just bending in half.  I had some leaves in my hoard, so I just snipped off some.  The example on Pinterest used leaves cut from green felt.  Push the cinnamon stick down into the scourer, add the wire, leaf, and I used a little piece of raffia that I tied into a bow.  Hot glue in place.

Voila!!!  Now how cute is this?  Would be great as Thanksgiving favors, or for fall table place settings.  I'm gonna throw them in a basket in my kitchen......bonus.....they smell good too.

These are small and I am sure you can get larger scouring pads at the grocery store but you may have to pay a little more.  You could add a tag or another leaf.  Let me know how you make yours!

Pumpkins, already????

With all the fall shows that I do, I start early on my fall and winter items.  These little pumpkins are a variation on the ones I did a couple of years ago, these being more prim.

These little guys are great to sit in the dinner plate for each guest at your Thanksgiving meal.  And they are very simple to make.  There is a tutorial on this blog;  just type pumpkin in the search bar.

And I redid the lettering on my angel:

Better huh?  I stamped and then painted over the stamp to make it darker.  Both the pumpkins and the angel are listed in my Etsy shop.  I sold all my corn on the cobs this week and the carrots that I had listed.  I also sold my long-legged bunny at my friend Dawn's show as well as some of my bunny sachets on Etsy.  I always feel so grateful when someone enjoys my work.  And I do appreciate all of the comments as well.

Have a great week, my bloggie friends.  More to come.

March 1....a new beginning

Well the big 6-0 has come and gone, we got past leap day without a major world crisis, and March has come in like a lion, at least here....It seems like we have had snow almost every day for the last couple of weeks.  Maybe I'm just noticing it more since it was all rainy and green when I was in Texas.  I have been working on some projects this week.  I made more of the pink raggedies:
If you would like a Pretty in Pink Raggedy, let me know.  I am selling them for $19.99 each.  There are different pink fabrics for their dresses and pantaloons and all the faces are different.  Bodies are coffee stained.

I also finished up some small pumpkins.  This was another project that was a work in progress.  These are great bowl fillers,  and were a great seller for me last year.  They are made of muslin, painted orange.  I use Americana Canyon orange, but you can use your favorite color.  Use up fabric scraps to make these.
When I was in Texas, I found these miniature kitchen utensils at a five and dime.  I just embellished and they are ready for sale.  I did about a half dozen each of the graters and whisks, but only did a couple of the ladles

I think they really turned out cute and now I am on the lookout for more mini-utensils.

Well, my bloggie friends, hope your day goes well. My kids and grandkids will be here to celebrate my birthday on Saturday.  I can't wait!  And lastly,  my heart goes out to all those in the hard hit areas of the midwest who have lost much in the recent tornados.
