I digress. I have a vintage show coming up the end of this month. I love the vintage shows because I have an excuse to antique (yes, that can be a verb) and can mix the vintage items with my re-purposed or farmhouse style handmades. So, I have touted my favorite thrift store in posts past, but I wanted to show you this table that I bought for $8 on one of my trips. I don't know what drew me to this piece, but I can tell you, it is heavy and solid. I removed the legs and the hinges and started sanding. I sanded. I sanded. And then I sanded some more.

The top revealed a beautiful solid oak. I stained it twice and covered with poly. The legs and base were done with chalk paint. I am still deciding if I should distress before waxing. What to do, what to do.....
I have had this little potty chair for years. There was a little tray on it, but it got damaged in storage so I removed it and painted it a cheery red and splatter painted it. Before you say, Oh no! You painted it!?!? Let me assure you that it was painted before and has a crack in the front which renders it unusable.
The color is actually the deeper red in the in process photo. Doesn't it look cute with the flower pot in it? I can see this on someone's patio or porch.
I bought this school desk at a yard sale. I loved it but it was in pretty sad shape. I sanded it and chalk painted it. I am debating over adding a bit of detail....maybe stripes....lettering?
And I have finished up some floral...
Well, as you can see, I haven't been slacking. In fact, in spite of hubs having surgery and my washer going out, I have gotten a lot accomplished. I am working on a desk that I would love to finish before next week end. But we shall see. I will probably have to make two trips down to Pueblo for this show, just so I can transport the furniture without getting it too scratched up. The old mini van may not be able to carry it all in one trip. lol
Have a good week, my friends. Hugs!
Linda, I feel the same about creating and craft shows. I've been doing shows for about 7 or8 years but wish I started sooner!
